Troubleshooting Steps
Power Down and Unplug
- Turn off your PS5 completely (not Rest Mode).
- Unplug the power cable and all accessories.
Move the console to a clean, flat surface with good lighting.
Remove Side Panels
- Lay the PS5 on its side.
- Grip the top corner of the panel and gently lift while sliding downward.
Repeat for the second panel.
Clean Vents & Fan
Use the following tools:
- Compressed air (short bursts only)
- A soft brush or microfiber cloth
- Optional: vacuum with a brush attachment (low suction)
Steps:
- Brush loose dust away from the vents and openings.
- Use compressed air to blow dust out of the fan area.
- Hold the fan blades in place while blowing air — spinning them can damage the motor.
Wipe away any remaining dust around the edges.
Optional: Remove the Fan
Use a Torx screwdriver to unscrew the fan guard.
Carefully clean the fan and surrounding area for deeper maintenance.
Reassemble
Screw the fan guard back in place.
Snap the side panels securely onto the console.
