The Target app is a mobile shopping and savings companion designed to make browsing, purchasing, and managing orders from Target simple and convenient. It brings together in‑store and online shopping so you can find products, check deals, and manage pickups or deliveries all in one place.

1. Get the Target app
On an iPhone:
1. Open the App Store (blue icon with a white “A”).
2. Tap Search at the bottom.
3. Type “Target” and tap Search.
4. Find the app with the red Target logo and tap Get.
5. When it finishes, tap Open.
On an Android phone (Samsung, etc.):
1. Open the Play Store (multicolored triangle icon).
2. Tap the search bar at the top.
3. Type “Target” and tap Search.
4. Tap Install on the Target app with the red logo.
5. When it’s done, tap Open.
2. Open the app and start creating an account
1.Tap the Target icon on your home screen.
2. On the first screen, look for Sign in or Create account.
3. Tap Create account (sometimes it says Create a Target account or New to Target?).
3. Enter your basic information
You’ll see a form with a few boxes:
1. First and last name
• Type your name (for example, “John Brown”).
2. Email address
• Type an email you use and can check (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.).
• This is where Target will send receipts and notices.
3. Create a password
• Make it at least 6 characters (letters and/or numbers).
• Choose something you can remember but others won’t guess.
• Write it down in a notebook and keep it in a safe place.
4. Phone number (if asked)
• Enter your mobile number. This can help with order updates.
5. When everything looks right, tap Create account, Sign up, or Next.
4. Confirm your email or phone (if Target asks)
• If they send a code by email:
1. Open your email app.
2. Find the message from Target.
3. It will have a code (a few numbers).
4. Go back to the Target app and type the code, then tap Confirm or Verify.
• If they send a code by text message:
1. Open your text messages.
2. Find the code from Target.
3. Return to the Target app and type the code.
Once this is done, your Target account is created.
5. Add your home address
This makes ordering and pickup easier later.
1. In the app, look for a person icon or Account (often at the bottom).
2. Tap Account.
3. Look for Addresses or Manage addresses.
4. Tap Add address or Add new address.
5. Type:
• Full name
• Street address (for example, “456 Oak Street, Apt 2”)
• City, state, ZIP code
• Phone number
6. Tap Save.
6. Add a payment method (you can wait until you’re ready to buy)
1. In Account, look for Payments, Wallet, or Payment methods.
2. Tap Add card or Add payment method.
3. Carefully type:
• Card number
• Expiration date
• Name on the card
• 3‑digit code on the back
4.Tap Save.
7. Set your preferred way to shop
In the app’s main screen:
1. At the top, you may see options like Same Day Delivery, Drive Up, or Order Pickup.
2. Choose the one you think you’ll use most:
• Drive Up: Order in the app, stay in your car, they bring it out.
• Order Pickup: Order in the app, pick it up inside the store.
• Delivery: Have items brought to your home (if available).
You can change this anytime.
8. Gentle comfort tips
• Go slowly: There’s no timer. You can do one or two steps, then rest.
• Write things down: Email, password, and any notes like “Target app is on the first screen, bottom right.”
• Use bigger text: If reading is hard, increase text size in your phone’s settings.
• Practice without buying: You can look at items, add them to your cart, then just back out without checking out.
